First of all, thank you so much for trying our matcha! When I started drinking matcha 5 years ago it changed my life. The relaxed energy, focus, improved stomach issues and overall feeling of well-being was a stark difference to the damage coffee was doing to my mind and body. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN YOUR ORGANIC & SUPERIOR BLENDS?

Our Organic matcha is USDA and JAS Certified so you can rest assured knowing you've received top grade Ceremonial matcha free of harmful pesticides. The cultivation regulations for Japanese matcha in general are stringent, so even non-organic matcha is highly regulated for health and quality. To put it simply, organic farming methods are more difficult, making our Organic matcha slightly more expensive. Both our Organic and Superior options are top of the line in terms of quality.

HOW MUCH CAFFEINE IS IN THE PRODUCT?

A serving of Element Matcha contains about 35mg of caffeine, equivalent to 1/3 of the amount in coffee. The reason so many people have switched from coffee to matcha is the L-theanine, which gives you a calm, focused energy that helps slow release the caffeine to give you longer lasting energy without the crash, jitters, and anxiety of coffee.

ARE THERE ANY SWEETENERS OR OTHER INGREDIENTS IN YOUR MATCHA?

CAN YOU CONSUME WHILE PREGNANT OR BREASTFEEDING?

WHERE IS YOUR MATCHA FROM?

Our matcha is harvested and packaged in the mountains of Shizuoka, Japan. Check out our website and Instagram for some beautiful pictures of our tea farm. The tea farms we work with are all family owned using sustainable practices and take great care of their workers. This was an important factor in choosing where we got our leaves.

ARE YOU CERTIFIED GLUTEN-FREE? VEGAN?

Not "certified gluten free or vegan," but organic matcha is always gluten-free and vegan.

ARE YOU ORGANIC?

Yes, our Organic blend is 100% USDA Certified Organic. Our Superior blend is not technically organic but Japan has extremely strict laws concerning fertilizers and pesticides so you can be assured you're getting the best quality matcha powder. Our matcha is also triple toxin screened.

HOW DO I MAKE IT?

Sift 1/2 to 1 tsp matcha into a bowl or cup then add 2oz of cool water. Mix with a bamboo whisk or electric frother until smooth froth forms. Add additional 2 to 6oz hot water (160*F) or milk for a hot latte OR cold milk and ice for a iced latte. Sweeten as desired.

WHAT TIME OF THE DAY IS THE BEST TO DRINK MATCHA?

It all depends on your sensitivity to caffeine. While the L-theanine in matcha counteracts the caffeine and gives you a calm, relaxing high, if you are highly sensitive to caffeine we recommend drinking it before the evening time. We love it in the mornings to jump start your brain and body and then in the afternoon to lift you through the rest of the day. The majority of people have a much easier time sleeping at night drinking matcha vs coffee. Try it out and see what works for you.
