"Matcha isn't just a beverage. It's a way of life."
Jon Torp, Founder
Fresh Kagoshima.
We spent a year tasting our way across Japan before settling here. Ash from the Sakurajima volcano has fed this soil for centuries, and the minerals carry straight into the leaf: deeper color, a rounder finish, almost no bitterness. Kagoshima's warm southern climate also brings first harvest weeks ahead of any other region, so the leaves reach you younger and greener.
For the final three weeks before harvest the plants grow under shade, concentrating sweetness and chlorophyll. The new Superior grade is the very top of what we source, a step up from the Superior we carried before: the youngest leaves of the first harvest, triple toxin-screened and stone-ground in small batches. It's the matcha we'd pour for someone trying it for the first time.
From sift to sip.
A quiet practice you can build a morning around. No equipment fuss, no chemistry. Just the hand, the bowl, and the green coming alive in front of you.
Earth.

Water + Wind.
Pour 2 oz of water at ~165°F. Whisk briskly in a W-motion until frothy and the lumps surrender.
Fire or Ice.
Top with hot water for usucha, steamed milk for a latte, or pour over ice. The ritual is yours.
Loved the first time around.
The best matcha.
"You can taste the difference. It's worth the price."
Better than the alternatives.
"I did a matcha tasting in Kyoto a few years back and I've been searching for good high quality matcha ever since. Element Matcha is the best I've found. Delicious, earthy, and exactly like I remembered."
So smooth!
"I've always struggled with trying to like Matcha because other brands I've tried are so chalky and textured. Element is soooo smooth!"
